Where your files go

What does not leave

• No file is uploaded. Not the documents, not their text, not their names, not their digests.
• No account. Nothing to create, nothing to connect, no password.
• No tracker. No ad network, no analytics, no tracking cookie.
• No downloaded fonts. A request to a font provider would be an outgoing connection; the site makes none.

How to check

Open the tool, drop a folder, then cut the network: everything keeps working. A promise you can unplug is no longer a promise, it is a fact.

Or open your browser's Network tab and look: after the page has loaded, nothing else happens.

The page also carries a content security policy that forbids the browser from opening a connection to any site other than this one. That is not an intention, it is a rule the browser enforces.

The only figure we record

After a sorting, the site sends one request, and only one: a number and a family. Three families exist: folders sorted, documents identified, lists produced.

That request carries no file name, no document type and no chosen list. Knowing how many rental files are checked in France would be commercial information, and it would also be information about visitors.

A browser that signals it refuses tracking sends nothing. The package installed on an intranet sends nothing either.

What is written to your disk

• The sorted documents, in the output folder you chose, and nowhere else.
• A log (klarfolder-journal.json) in that same folder: what was copied, where, and with which digest. That is what makes the undo possible.
• Nothing in browser storage, except your naming pattern if you change it.
