The questions we are asked, and the ones we should be asked.
- Are my files sent anywhere?
- No. They are read by your browser, in this tab. You can cut the network once the page has loaded: everything keeps working. The Privacy page says how to check.
- Is the tool free?
- Yes, and it needs no account. A version for teams is planned; it will change nothing about the promise on the Privacy page.
- How many documents can it handle?
- A thousand files were walked, copied and verified without the tab falling over. The content is never kept in memory.
- What happens when it gets the type wrong?
- You correct it, and you choose the scope: this document, all from the same issuer, all of the same type, all from the same source folder. The number of documents affected is shown before you confirm.
- Why are so many documents left “unsorted”?
- Because one document misfiled in silence costs more than ten left unsorted. The tool files with confidence only what it is sure of, and says when it is not.
- Are screenshots identified?
- Not yet. They are read, counted and filed as unsorted. It is the most requested family, and the work is under way.
- Does Klarfolder check that a document is genuine?
- No, never, and that is not a technical limit: it is a refusal. It reads what is written; it checks no stamp, no signature, and no reference against any authority.
- Can it be used on a confidential file?
- The folder does not leave your computer, and the page is not allowed to open a connection to another site. For a closed environment, the intranet package installs on your own server.
- Which browsers?
- Every recent browser. Opening a folder on disk and writing into it needs Chrome, Edge or Opera; elsewhere you choose files or drop an archive, and the result comes out as an archive.
- Where do the document lists come from?
- From public texts, quoted and dated on each list's page. An out-of-date list gets a file rejected: it must say where it comes from.
