Remove blank pages from a PDF
A double-sided scan of a single-sided file gives one blank page in two. They are spotted, shown struck through on the strip, and you see which ones before they go.

When to use it
The scanner was set to double-sided and the file was not: half the PDF is empty.
Or a divider, a cover page or the back of a cover slipped into the stack.
What this tool does
- A blank page is shown, not deleted. It stays on the strip of thumbnails, struck through, with its reason, and the box can be unticked.
- Nor does it cut wrongly. A blank page inside a document is common, and the tool treats it as a clue, not as a rule.
- The original file is never modified: the documents that come out are new files.
What it does not do: an almost-blank page (a stamp, a page number on its own) is not counted as blank. Better one page too many than one page lost.
What is read in the document
- The text of the page, and how much of it there is: a page with almost nothing left is taken as blank.
No file is uploaded: the folder is read by your browser, in this tab, and the page is not allowed to open a connection to any other site.

- What if a blank page mattered?
- Untick “Set blank pages aside”: they stay in the documents. That is what the box is for.
- Are scanned pages without text taken for blank pages?
- No, if you leave reading enabled: a scanned page is read before it is judged. Without it, an image page with no text layer would look empty, and the tool says so.
